Our Client's Insurance Recovery Group is seeking a mid-level associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Chicago office. Their group represents policyholders in all aspects of the insurance recovery process, including analyzing insurance policies and claims, advising clients on claim presentation, and negotiating, mediating, and litigating disputes in both domestic and international lawsuits and arbitrations.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have mid to large-sized law firm experience in complex litigation and/or arbitration, with a strong academic background and excellent writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. Experience representing policyholders in coverage matters is a plus, as is familiarity with judicial clerkships or insurance knowledge. We seek litigators who are eager to learn and committed to growing within the group. Successful candidates will have experience handling multiple cases, managing litigation/arbitration matters, motion practice, and deposition and courtroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent policyholders in analyzing insurance claims and presenting claims to insurers.
- Negotiate, mediate, and litigate disputes related to insurance coverage in domestic and international settings.
- Manage litigation and arbitration matters, including motion practice, depositions, and courtroom appearances.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on coverage matters and disputes.
- Collaborate across offices and practice groups in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in complex litigation and/or arbitration, preferably in insurance recovery or coverage matters.
- Strong writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with federal and state court rules and e-discovery.
- Experience handling multiple cases and managing litigation/arbitration matters.
- Prior judicial clerkships and insurance knowledge are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $235,000 - $365,000
