Arkansas State University - Beebe, a two-year residential community college associated with the Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a full-time, promotion eligible, Instructor or Assistant Professor of Choral Music to begin August 2025. This is a 10-month faculty position.
The successful candidate will possess the skills to conduct the Chamber Singers and Singers Choirs and prepare a minimum of four performances each academic year with these ensembles. The candidate will also teach Applied Voice. Other duties could include teaching courses in Music Appreciation, Theory and Ear Training, and/or Music History, depending upon the strengths of the candidate.
The individual hired will:
- Direct the "Chamber Singers" and the "Singers" choirs.
- Engage in student recruitment and retention initiatives to support the choral and music program.
- Recruit to ensure a roster of at least 25 choral music students annually.
- Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online course offerings as needed.
- Teach at our satellite locations as needed.
- Maintain a roster of advisees across many Arts & Humanities disciplines.
- Assist with curriculum development and review.
- Participate in course and program assessment.
- Serve on institutional committees.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire for teaching and community engagement rather than research and publishing.
Required Education/Experience: Master's degree in Music with an emphasis in Choral Conducting, Voice, or closely related field. Strong computer and technology skills.
