Required Minimum Education:Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
Required Field of Study:Education or training in or related to the specific field of instruction/courses taught.
Other Required Qualifications:Industry credentials/certifications or training directly related to the accelerated skill courses taught.
Work or field experience directly related to the accelerated skill courses taught.
• Safety oriented semiconductor optics instruction experience
• Experience in curriculum development; ability to create lesson plans to meet the needs of a diverse student population
• Semiconductor and Optics Fabrication and Optical Assembly Experience
• Photonics and Laser Safety Experience
Preferred Type of Experience:Instructional experience in an accelerated skills training or related vocational field.
Experience with creating and deploying student engagement and retention strategies.

• Pneumatic technology experience
Electronics theory experience
Preferred Licenses/Certification:Certifications in related fields of Semiconductors, Optics, and Photonics are preferred .
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:The College is in search of a candidate with expertise in semiconductors and the role semiconductor materials have in optoelectronics. Candidates should have a knowledge of optics fabrication, optical assembly, photonics and fiber optics to teach entry-level technicians to work in a lab environment. Desired candidate will have experience in teaching adult learners in a hands-on instructional setting.
General Working Conditions:This job operates in a professional office environment and throughout the College's worksites and grounds. Within the professional office environment, the employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet and occasionally moderate.
While operating outside of the office environment, the employee may be exposed to elements including but not limited to wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The role may also involve hazards or physical risks, which require comprehending and following basic safety precautions and may require Personal Protection Equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to remaining stationary, moving, ascending/descending, positioning self, reaching, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-100 pounds.
