Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include teaching 3 courses per semester in foundation or introductory level courses in both studio and digital art disciplines (Observational Drawing, Life Drawing, Studio Research, Studio Practice, Digital Foundations, Introduction to Graphic Design, Illustration, etc.) with the ability to utilize digital equipment (ex. Adobe Creative Cloud, laser cutter, 3D printing, digital photography, CNC, vinyl cutter) and maintaining all studio facilities and equipment related to the classes you teach. Additional responsibilities include departmental committees and other responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Education Requirements:

MFA in studio art, design, or related field is required.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to develop curriculum and teach foundational and introductory courses across a range of media while also encouraging creative and conceptual thinking. The applicant should possess strong drawing skills and technical knowledge across multiple analog and digital mediums associated with an emphasis on contemporary studio practices along with strong interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of safety practices in studio art.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Successful teaching at the college/university level with experience in drawing and foundations, including the ability to teach a variety of technical and stylistic skills as applicable both to traditional and to contemporary art making. Consideration will be given to candidates who can also teach introductory courses in analog or digital sculpture.
