Job DescriptionEssential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThis full-time position is responsible for the delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning, and the on-going development of curriculum and learning strategies which meet the needs of students and employers. This position is responsible for providing OTA students with quality Level I and Level II fieldwork opportunities, developing, coordinating and monitoring programming related to student fieldwork experiences. The coordinator is also responsible for ensuring the program's compliance with ACOTE fieldwork education requirements and collaborating with fieldwork educators to ensure that fieldwork experiences meet the Program's objectives. The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.- Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. Create learning experiences that integrate instructional technologies to maximize student success and multiple delivery methodologies such as hybrid, in-person, virtual, and on-line course delivery.
- Assessment - Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and learning and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.
- Curriculum Development - Develop and continually revise curriculum and instructional materials that are competency-based, current, consistent with employer expectations, and aligned with the college policy on level of required documentation to successfully prepare graduates for their chosen career fields.
- Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation. Ensure course materials (including textbooks) are available to students.
- Team Participation - Support the college by engaging in division, department and team activities, and meetings including planning, development, and budgeting, and staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
- Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners by participating in advisory committees, external meetings, business visits, and community groups Collaborate with staff to recruit students, participate in recruitment events, and proactively promote the College and our programs.
- Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students reach their goals by collaborating with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful. Advise students regarding class schedules, career information, internships, and other program-related information.
- Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices, and teaching through professional development activities, networking with regional industry leaders, and the integration of new techniques and technology. Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation.
- Coordination of Academic Fieldwork - Orienting students to the general protocol for fieldwork experience and providing them with the appropriate resources. Identifying and developing new sites for fieldwork education that provides the best match with the Program's mission and philosophy and opportunities for the application of concepts presented in the classroom. Ensure that fieldwork experiences strengthen the ties between didactic and fieldwork education.
Document:- Process for site selection, to include maintaining memoranda of understanding
- Compliance with site requirements, maintaining site objectives and site data, and communicating this information to students.
- Demonstrate that academic and fieldwork educators collaborate in establishing fieldwork objectives and communicate with the student and fieldwork educator about progress and performance during fieldwork.
- The ratio of fieldwork educators to students enables proper supervision and the ability to provide frequent assessment of student progress in achieving stated fieldwork objectives.
- Ensure that all fieldwork is completed within 12 months of completing the didactic portion of the program.
- Evidence of valid memoranda of understanding in effect and signed by both parties at the time the student is completing the Level I or Level II fieldwork experience. (Electronic memoranda of understanding and signatures are acceptable.) Responsibilities of the sponsoring institution(s) and each fieldwork site must be clearly documented in the memorandum of understanding
Minimum QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field (Master's degree preferred) with degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body.
- Three to five years of recent, relevant working experience as an OT practitioner.
- One year (or equivalent) demonstrated adult instruction and curriculum development preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:- Registered Occupational Therapist OR Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with license to practice in the State of Wisconsin.
- Clinical Documentation requirements need to be met and maintained.
- Meet Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) certification requirements.
- Teaching or training experience is desirable.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Subject to FVTC's Motor Vehicle Records Check.
- Proficiency utilizing learning management system.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum.
- Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by embracing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
- Upon hire, must maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
- Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.

Work Environment- Work will be completed in a hybrid environment, both in person and virtually.
Work environment may change based upon college needs.Physical Requirements- Mobility: While much of the work is desk-based, occasional mobility may be necessary for attending meetings, office tours, or events within the workplace.
- Fine Motor Skills: This role may need precise hand movements or manual dexterity for activities such as writing on a whiteboard, demonstrating experiments, or using instructional technology like computers.
- Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as typing, without discomfort or injury.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, candidates, and stakeholders, both in-person and through electronic means.
- Travel: Instructor position may require off-site teaching, fieldwork, or travel for professional development.
- Driving: Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle, if driving is a requirement of the position.
