Description

Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits provided to regular Board of Regents or Civil Service employees. Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Position is located at the Ko Educational Center in Honoka'a, HI.
  2. Create and maintain documentation for the UH Meat and Poultry Workforce Consortium.
  3. Assist in annual grant reporting requirements.
  4. Assist in maintaining records and prepare reports for the Butchery program and VCAA office
  5. Manage visitors to the Butchery program.
  6. Review reports for clarity and accuracy; refer questionable data or narrative for clarification.
  7. Assist in establishing and maintaining liaison with faculty, staff, and administrators of both public and private agencies concerned.
  8. Provide technical support to administration, faculty, and staff in utilizing college systems and spreadsheets in support of management processes.
  9. Monitor extramural project progress. Provide procurement and/or project support to extramural funded projects.
  10. Perform general office management and administrative functions as assigned (i.e travel, budget, purchasing, etc).
  11. Assist department with the coordination of internal and external events.
  12. Assist with internal/external communications, such as memos, letters, electronic newsletters and social media postings.
  13. Establish and maintain complex electronic file systems.
  14. Assist with the printing and publication of instructional and promotional materials.
  15. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree and 0 year(s of progressively responsible professional experience or equivalent education/training or experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to use MS Office applications and Google Apps, with an intermediate ability in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  3. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in academic administration.
  4. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  6. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
