Illustrative Examples of Work Performed
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Lottery's field sales team, the installation of new retail partners, the auditing of Lottery inventory at the closing of a retail partner's location, and the transfer of Lottery inventory when retail partners are sold to another operating entity. This position is responsible for constantly improving the operational effectiveness of the sales team and writing policies to memorialize any modifications to the procedures. The position will be responsible for maintaining the Lottery's retailer handbook.

Additionally, the position will promote Lottery ticket sales through managing a sales route with regular sales calls and merchandising at Retailer locations. The position is required to advise retailers on effective use of point-of-sale materials; provide game information, marketing techniques, and ensure Retailers understand and comply with Lottery policies and procedures. The role is responsible for evaluating instant ticket inventory at Retailer locations, planning and monitoring orders with Retailers, and participating in new Retailer recruitment.

The position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills (written and verbal), a demonstrated ability to interact with retail partners, both at a corporate level and at a small business unit level and be flexible/adaptable. This position requires the ability to lift 15 pounds and a valid RI, CT, or MA driver's license. Some evening and weekend hours.

Required Qualifications for Appointment
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma.

Experience:
  • At least 10 years of Lottery Sales route experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, or the equivalent, in supervisory or management roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing timelines and partner relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks at one time.
