          Inst/Ast Prof - Fixed Term - Art History

          Position Summary

          The Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University is currently establishing a pool of fixed-term assistant professors and instructors. These positions will be filled per course/per semester, on an as-needed basis. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the program has an immediate need to fill a vacancy as needed within two years to begin as early as January 2025.

          Duties:

          Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in art history in both the Art History program and in MSU's Integrated Studies in Arts and Humanities program ( ). We are open to all fields.

          Required Degree

          Doctorate

          Minimum Requirements
          • ABD or Ph.D. in art history or a related discipline for Assistant Professor rank
          • Masters degree for Instructor rank
          • Experience teaching at the college level.
