          Position Summary

          he Department of Political Science invites outstanding candidates from political science to apply to an Assistant Professor/Instructor Fixed Term position. Responsibilities include teaching three classes: Special Topics in Political Science (PLS 392), Seminar in Political Science (PLS 422), and Issues in Public Policy (PPL 891).

          The foci for these classes should be in the realm of American Politics. Expertise in American Politics. Demonstrated record of teaching experience in teaching these needed classes in American Politics. The position begins on May 12, 2025 and is for Session 1 of the Summer 2025 semester.

          Required Degree

          Doctorate

          Minimum Requirements
          • A PhD in Political Science for Rank of Assistant Professor
          • Completed Masters degree in Political Science for Rank of Instructor
          • Potential for high quality instruction of undergraduate and master's students
          • Expertise in American Politics
          Desired Qualifications
          • Experience teaching undergraduate and master's students in a condensed, online asynchronous format
          • Experience teaching classes related to (i) the U.S. presidency and (ii) law for public policymakers and administrators
