Job Description Summary
The Lead Floater oversees patient care to patients from admission to discharge. The Lead Floater is responsible for the direction, supervision, and evaluation of float therapy services and performance on the units.

Job Description
The Lead Floater will:
- Supervise and monitor appropriate staffing/productivity of inpatient floaters at 345 Superior across all inpatient units.
- Recruit, hire and coach staff to ensure optimal performance and talent match for each program.
- Oversee orientation, training and professional growth and development needs of staff.
- Conduct performance appraisals with input from the medical director, allied health manager and nurse manager of each unit.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Participate in the development of operating and capital budgets and manages resources to budget and volume.
- Initiate and implements quality improvements in individual, team, and organizational performance and facilitates resolution of quality issues.
- Ensure that documentation is available for patients and in compliance with SRAlab documentation standards.
- Communicate with patients, families and staff to ensure understanding and to minimize conflict.
- Manage or assigns designee to manage floater supervision as needed.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Manager, Innovation Center
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Required degree to be licensed in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology.
- License to practice as a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech-language pathologist.
- Minimum 2 years related clinical work experience (rehabilitation experience preferred) with demonstrated ability to organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to provide leadership and communicate effectively with patients, families, and all levels of staff within the organization.
- Strong analytical skills required to assess, plan and implement strategies for successful unit management.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
Pay and Benefits :
Pay Range: $68,000.00 annually - $120,000.00 annually
