Position Type:

Required:
  • Certified Athletic Trainer or equivalent. Licensed Athletic Trainer preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in health, wellness or exercise related field (e.g., Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Kinesiotherapy, Nutrition, Health Promotions or Allied Health equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proper certification/licensure at time of employment (e.g., certified Athletic Trainer, Kinesiologist, Exercise Physiologist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant or similar).
  • Minimum of 3 years of applied work experience in industrial or clinical settings preferred.

  • Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • Normal operations at the facility are on all 3 shifts (24/5).
  • Will be asked to interact with 2nd and 3rd shift employees on occasion.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide coaching on health-related issues to help participants decrease likelihood of injury, optimize movement, and achieve personal wellness goals. Coaching may include soft tissue management for physical issues, nutrition recommendations, fitness and early intervention options, and development and roll-out of stretching / warm-up programs.
  • Provide reactive and preventative medical care for employees, including:
  • Triage on-site incidents where employees report a potential injury and provide First Aid treatment as necessary.
  • Provide preventative care where employees identify discomfort, including range of motion assessment and physical manipulation (beneath OSHA medical treatment).
  • Raise awareness for ergonomics / health / fitness programs with general population, including:
  • Attending start-up meetings and staff meetings for discussions
  • Developing and delivering health promotions and training content
  • Manage the worker's compensation program for injured employees, including providing the first report of injury and coordinating return to work.
  • Maintain functional capacity worksheets and evaluate employee's ability to meet physical job demands (general and return to work)
  • Participate in incident investigations and ergonomic assessments using site tools.
  • Prepare reports and data analysis to show impact of Health Management programs.
  • Function as a member of the site EHS team and support various activities and programs, including:
  • Leading site ergonomics team (office and industrial ergonomic)
  • Evaluating Good Observations and Near Misses raised by employees
  • Coordinating with vendors coming on site to perform medical surveillance
  • Coordinating emergency response team for medical responses
  • Supporting emergency drills and inspection of emergency equipment.
