1 Who we are Our company was founded in 2006 specializing in all things technical forbus-based public transit systems in the US. This means we design, manufacture,and manage all kinds of different products and features, including driverinterfaces, dispatch communications, passenger counters, announcers, GPStracking, and reporting & data analytics. It also means we build real-timeinformation systems for riders including apps and digital signage found at busstops. We have relationships with Apple Maps, Google Maps, Transit app, and ourwork goes out to millions of riders on those platforms. Our product is like airtraffic control, but for buses. There are a mix of hardware and softwareproducts in this role. We hope this excites you.
TheUS-based division of the company has approximately 50 people, with 15 inthe product/engineering department. It's the best of both worlds: small companyfeel with big company support.
We are fully remote with offsites once or twice a year and physical officesthat some folks choose to use in Downtown LA & Houston, TX.

4 Whatwe need you to do in this role You We run our own servers in a co-located datacenter because it gives usthe best control, performance, and cost structure to support our product andcustomers today. We're actively planning for greater resiliency in ourinfrastructure architecture, and you'll help us get there-designing, deploying,and stress testing the setup until it just works. We're looking for someone whounderstands physical infrastructure and its benefits and tradeoffs compared tothe public cloud, so you can help us evolve responsibly from our strongfoundation.
Your customers will be the rest of the engineering team-and your job isto make them wildly productive. We're looking for someone who lights up at theidea of owning the infrastructure, tooling, and deployment pipelines that letsoftware developers focus on shipping great code. You'll be managing and tuningSQL Server, wrangling Kubernetes clusters, orchestrating Docker containers, andevolving our build and deploy systems (TeamCity, Bitrise, etc.). You might bewriting a Slack bot to help the team ship code easier one day and designing automationscripts or Grafana dashboards the next. You'll also help build out our testinginfrastructure, making it easier to catch issues earlier and deploy withconfidence. It's important that you understand the physical side of networkingand server hardware as well as the software side of managing services and code.
This is a hands-on, practical role for someone who takes pride in enablingothers, enjoys the craft of system reliability and observability, and is readyto lead the charge on infrastructure and DevOps. If that sounds like your kindof challenge-and your kind of team-we'd love to hear from you.
