You will join the Gloucester Project Management team, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering robust Infrastructure Project Management. This includes providing and assisting with project management services, offering technical advice, and overseeing pre and post-contract project management activities. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the success of both small and large-scale projects.

  • A proven track record delivering highway schemes as the named Project Manager under the contract.
  • A high level of knowledge and proven experience of NEC contracts.
  • A demonstrable understanding of project management.
  • Computer literate. Able to communicate by email, prepare documents, use spreadsheets and prepare basic presentations.
  • A demonstrable understanding of the principles of sustainable construction.
  • Highways England SRN (strategic road network) experience.
  • Solid understanding of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) & Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).
  • Solid understanding of the Technical Approval process.
  • HNC/HND, degree or diploma qualified (or equivalent) in relevant engineering or Project Management discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years PQS experience.
  • Analytical skills - the ability to analyse and sort complex data into an understandable form.
  • Interpersonal written and verbal communication skills - compose and explain complex issues concisely to different audiences.
  • Ability to be part of a team - excellent inter-personal and team working skills, ensuring motivated and productive attitude.
  • Financial management skills - monitor and manage complex and detailed budgets, along with the ability to analyse complex financial cost plans.
  • Computer literate - communicate by Email and prepare documents, use basic spreadsheets and prepare basic presentations using recognised software.
  • Organisation skills - successfully manage contracts and contractors/consultants.
  • Project appraisal knowledge and skills - highlight the strengths and weaknesses of a project and make judgments based on an analysis of information.

The position will require an element of travel to fulfil the requirements of the role, so having a full clean driving licence would be desirable.

The role is based in the Bristol/South Wales area, and requires easy travel to Swindon/Gloucester.
