Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support new Amazon site deployments across the country. This role is travel-intensive , requiring on-site presence at various locations from Tuesday to Thursday, with travel on Monday and Friday. Every third week will be remote to focus on administrative tasks such as documentation, expense reporting, and follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities
Deploy, operate, and support Linux/Unix systems in a datacenter environment.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues quickly and effectively.
Design and implement scalable server monitoring and self-healing automation tools.
Improve infrastructure performance through simplification and automation.
Establish processes that optimize workflow and enhance end-user experience.
Develop and track key metrics that reflect infrastructure efficiency.
Maintain rigorous documentation, testing protocols, and security standards.
Deliver high-impact results in line with organizational goals.

Core Requirements
Deep knowledge of Linux or other UNIX variants in production environments.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for systems and networks.
Expertise in automation using Perl, Python, and shell scripting .
Solid understanding of networking protocols: Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, HTTP.
Demonstrated experience writing and optimizing SQL queries .
Familiarity with server security best practices, access control, and tooling.
Passion for innovation, efficiency, and resource optimization.

Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in C, C , or Java.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
Experience with AWS infrastructure and services .
Background in deploying and managing large-scale, geographically distributed server environments.
Operational knowledge of enterprise switching, routing, and storage systems.
