POSITION: Infrastructure Engineer LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active TS with SCI eligibility; willing to take a CI polygraph POSITION TYPE/STANDARD WORK HOURS: Full time, 40 hours THE OPPORTUNITY: Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs. As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical support across all stages of the acquisition life cycle. Support acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities. Advise and assist the government on cost, schedule, and performance matters. Draft and revise Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for government program managers. Assist with presenting acquisition and technical documentation to internal and external stakeholders. Develop documents such as capability requirements, acquisition strategies, technical evaluations, system specifications, training materials, and reports using the latest government guidance. Provide technical and programmatic status reports on individual programs or portfolios upon request. Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes, technical approaches, and organizational structures. Assist in establishing and maintaining a government risk management program, including risk identification and mitigation planning. Monitor program schedules, acquisition implementation, and risks. Maintain and update acquisition reports by aligning execution data with baselines. Advise the government program manager on technical engagements, including technical interchange meetings, design reviews, conferences, and working groups. Maintain awareness of all programs and technology development efforts within the portfolio. Assist integrated product teams and working groups and establish relationships with customers and contractors. Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection, operations, and mission data assessments. Recommend solutions for technical anomalies and support audits, compliance inspections, and readiness reviews. Advise the government program manager on software planning and development for a spiral or agile acquisition program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledgeable in architecting and guiding development of a federated service oriented architecture on a private platform; guiding creation and management of cloud application development and operations resources including Virtual Private Connections and Virtual Machines laaS, PaaS, and SaaS (compute, storage network, security, administration, automation, application services, databases) in either native cloud or hybrid cloud environments Knowledgeable in supporting maturation of DevSecOps pipelines; facilitating development of infrastructure as code and supporting deployments Knowledgeable in interfacing with the cyber and DoD intelligence community Requires 10 or more years in this type of position or program Requires BA/BS degree Requires Cloud certification Requires CompTIA certification SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not supervise the work of others. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%. TRAVEL: Little if any travel is required. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position.
