GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
An Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT (Information Technology) infrastructure within an organization, ensuring all systems function efficiently by managing servers, networks, cloud environments, and other critical components that support business operations; their key duties including system architecture, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and security maintenance to optimize performance and reliability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and KRA (Key Result Areas):
• Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
• Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
• System Design and Architecture: Develop and implement IT infrastructure designs, including network topology, server configurations, and data storage solutions to meet business requirements.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively scale infrastructure to accommodate growing demands.
• Implementation and Deployment: Install, configure, and deploy hardware and software components across the IT infrastructure.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity, server performance, and system availability.
• Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data, including firewalls, access controls, and vulnerability management.
• Cloud Migration and Management: Design and execute strategies for migrating workloads to cloud platforms and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Utilize monitoring tools to track system health, identify performance anomalies, and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Department Support: Provide support on various IT support requests and incidents as directed by IT management, even in areas not always directly related to primary position responsibilities, based on overall IT department workloads and business needs.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Five years of experience designing and managing networks, servers, cloud services, security and data storage.
• Technical Skills: proficient in network protocols (TCP/IP), server administration (Windows, Linux), virtualization technologies, cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data storage solutions.
• Problem solving: Ability to diagnose complex technical issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Communication: Clear communication with both technical and non-technical teams to explain complex technical concepts and manager expectations.
• Adaptability: Stay updated with emerging technologies and adapt to changing infrastructure needs.
• Scripting and Programming: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, Power Shell) for automation tasks.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust priorities with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
• Ability to use sound judgement and follow through in problem solving and decision making processes.
• Must be willing and able to travel.
• Must be able to meet and maintain Ocenco's approved driver criteria; a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, current insurance on personal vehicle, and meet company insurability requirements. TOOLS and EQUIPMENT:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily indoor office environment and may include limited time in production areas. Travel requirements may include operation of a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging.
Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, however this position may on occasion work outside business hours to support department and business needs. Occasional long hours may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, legible handwriting, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity includes but is not limited to touching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders and below knees, low back bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting. standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders. Unassisted light lifting and/or carrying of under 20 lbs. is required. May also include occasional unassisted lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs., lifting and/or carrying over 50 lbs. must be assisted. Operation of a motor vehicle and/or airplane travel may be required. Travel needs are determined by the department supervisory staff based on business need, required skill base, and assigned job tasks and responsibilities. Must be able to comply with current travel regulations and guidelines of airlines and destination locations.
