Job Title: Kafka Engineer
Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator with strong Confluent Kafka expertise to provide L3 production support, engineering, and user onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, support, and maintain Confluent Kafka platform, including Kafka Brokers, ZooKeeper, Schema Registry, etc.
- Provide L3 support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Lead installation, upgrades, and optimization of Kafka environments.
- Develop automation scripts using Shell or Python.
- Monitor system health using Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, JMX.
- Manage user onboarding and middleware integrations with Kafka.
- Use JIRA and ServiceNow for issue tracking and collaboration.
- Identify and mitigate risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for processes and solutions.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in Kafka administration, L3 support, and engineering.
- Expertise in Confluent Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Proficient in Shell/Python scripting and observability tools.
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-region Kafka clusters.
