Position Summary
Manages work packages to ensure project deliverables are met through collaboration with CPS Energy' IT Infrastructure, Network Services, Service Support and IT Operations teams. Works with Application Development and Business Unit teams and provide proper guidance to ensure the client software and services are designed, tested, documented, implemented, enhanced and maintained according to the operations standards and expected service quality. Provides Tier 3 proactive and reactive service and performance management for mission critical systems and client systems. Responds to real-time performance alerts to resolve performance problems. Conducts regular on-going review/analysis of performance data to identify current performance problems and proactively detect potential future performance problems. Ensures proper selection and deployment of technologies, creation or improvement of all processes, and the recruiting or retaining of motivated, skilled people.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Core responsibilities focus on strategic as well as operational/tactical aspects of the organization.
  • Budget planning for Capital and O&M based on operational needs.
  • Ability to understand and successfully employ networking, storage, operating system virtualization, and integration solutions and services, and utilize appropriate environments (e.g. Test, Staging, and Production) in support of assigned responsibilities.
  • Manage business plan initiatives and create processes to streamline the collection of data.
  • Ensures that infrastructure components are working in tandem and can be executed without compilation errors in various platforms and environments.
  • Install infrastructure components on networks and servers, ensure that the technical performance aspects in the infrastructure environment are optimized, including database, network, and application server performance.
  • Implements end-user technology, enterprise infrastructure, applications or services of moderate to advanced complexity, partnering with other business or IT engineering teams on more complex solutions.
  • Provide Infrastructure architecture support, contributing to the design, deployment and configuration for Microsoft Products, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • Develops alternative solutions for decision-making which support organizational goals/objectives and budget constraints.
  • Create and maintain documents for procedures/processes and infrastructure architecture/topology diagrams.
  • Identifies improvements in existing processes needed to increase the level of efficiency.
  • Collaborates with management in managing financial efficiency.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, root-cause analysis, and resolves architectural, performance and operational problems impacting systems.
  • Work for reviewing the BOMs (Bill of Materials), Product Quotes, SOWs (Statements of Work), At-a-glance documents, business cases and RFP responses. Working with IT leadership for budget planning for capital and O&M based on operational needs, track and monitor financial and operational metrics for management
  • Performs other project and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Sought as a subject matter expert with Windows/Linux Administration, VMware Virtualization, and Cloud native solutions from a design/usage perspective, and created a knowledge hub to convey best practices, common issues, and lessons learned. Exceptionally strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Extensive knowledge of Information technology infrastructure in a field supporting the migration of infrastructures from physical to virtual environments. Applied Computer skills to include understanding of networking, hardware, system administration, active directory, operating systems and desktop applications. Knowledge of the principles of data communications and telecommunications. Knowledge of computer operating systems, storage virtualization, compute virtualization, and hypervisors. Extensive knowledge of Linux/Unix, and Windows environment. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, including repository management, system patching, and CLI configuration/administration. Experience in creating and modifying scripts to configure and automate common. Provide support in defining and developing product architecture through the provision of designs and evaluation of storage products in order to meet business needs. Experience setting up and maintaining in production VMware DRS, HA, storage/network multipath. Solid foundation in Linux System Management, Virtualization, Scripting and Programing, SAN and NAS deployment and management, Storage Virtualization, System Backup utilization enterprise class backup platform. Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications. Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or relevant Certification.
  • Extensive experience as a Systems Administrator in a Linux/Unix and Windows environment.
  • Relative experience in supporting utility construction & maintenance.
  • Knowledge about DevOps Tools supporting Continuous Delivery Ansible, Git, Jenkins, and Bugzilla.
  • Advanced understanding of VMware vSphere, virtualization, and cloud technologies
  • Preferred certifications: ITIL, MCSE, VCP, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, and MS 365.

Working Environment
