Block 23 What you'll do:

As a Staff Engineer II you'll provide expertise in a suite of technical tools and products in a given domain to ensure solutions are safe, secure, compliant and reliable. You'll identify develop and support needs, as well as taking on design responsibilities supporting project tasks. AS the Staff Engineer, II, you'll facilitate dialogue and activities to ensure team collaboration including teams outside of your domain. You'll develop effective presentations and narratives for their teams. This position requires experience creating and managing Infrastructure as Code and operational automation. You will engage directly with stakeholders to include Application and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and mapping out their software stacks and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with IaC development environments to include Azure Devops, Terraform, Ansible, and the Ansible Automation Platform, packer, python and other development languages. You will be expected to create and enhance our SDLC process, look for ways to improve our organization's maturity. Following Microsoft's best practices, work in our Git based SDLC workflows utilizing DevOps management platforms such as Azure DevOps, Gitlab, or Github.
  • Lead the strategic planning of the IaC team and projects.
  • Design and implement engineering principles aimed at reliability practices and sound recovery procedures.
  • Design transaction specific application performance monitoring metrics that can be captured and passed to business partners.
  • Developdeployments of cloud resourcesusing Terraform
  • Design and implement a Golden Image baseline and revision process
  • Automate environment buildout in Azure
  • Automate disaster recovery environment deployments in Azure with terraform.
  • Customize environment buildout for specific applications
  • Design, build and maintain code repositories, processes, and procedures for specific application deployments
  • Liaison between IT and Application teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Manage Ansible Linux Hosts, and Azure Marketplace deployment of Ansible Automation Platform.
What you'll need:
  • 7+ years of related experience in IT automation and scripting.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required or High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of experience.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure DevOps while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
  • Be proficient in Windows Ecosystem (Azure, O365, AD)
  • Have experience developing and testing scripts
  • Self-motivated and able to work with teams in different locations
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and respect as a thoughtful leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders and development teams.
  • Objective mindset that can think 'enterprise first' and remain unbiased toward any specific technology or vendor choice, with decisions made based on data, analysis, & POC results.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience operating within a monitored and regulated environment, i.e., CIS compliant.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
