Infrastructure Architect - Datacenter Migration
Job description:
Execute end-to-end data center migration plans, ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and business continuity.
Design and build infrastructure platforms (compute, network, storage, backup) aligned to future-ready architectures.
Hands-on implementation of migration activities, including application dependency mapping, workload move planning, validation, cutover execution, and decommissioning.
Leverage and promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.) for provisioning, configuration management, and repeatability.
Develop and perform rigorous testing, validation, and failover drills for migrated platforms.
Collaborate with application and cloud teams to optimize hybrid cloud architecture, including DR, HA, and performance.
Drive implementation of monitoring, observability, and operational readiness using modern telemetry stacks.
Contribute to strategy for network design, WAN optimization, DNS, load balancing, and security postures across data centers and cloud.
Serve as technical escalation point for complex infrastructure-related issues during migration lifecycle.
Document architecture, designs, procedures, and recovery processes with clarity and precision.
Evaluate and integrate third-party tools and services needed to support migration and modernization.
Required Experience and Skills
10+ years of hands-on infrastructure engineering and architecture experience across large enterprise environments.
5+ years leading complex data center migration projects (physical, virtual, and cloud workloads).
Deep expertise in compute (Client, Nutanix, Hyper-V), storage (SAN/NAS), networking (Cisco, Palo Alto), DNS/DHCP, and backup strategies.
Strong command of scripting/automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Proficient with cloud and hybrid infrastructure designs using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Solid understanding of application dependency mapping, interconnectivity, and layered services migration.
Experience integrating Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) into infrastructure blueprints.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools (Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef).
Familiar with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments.
