Schwarz Partners has an exciting opportunity available for an Infrastructure Architect in Carmel, IN. A Schwarz Partners Infrastructure Architectis responsible for architect, implement, oversee, and provide subject matter expertise for infrastructure and related projects with a focus on security and best practice. The person in this role will be expected to be a subject matter expert (SME) of all Microsoft technologies with a strong focus on design and implementation of Microsoft related solutions. This role acts as the tier 3 escalation and remediation point for helpdesk and infrastructure teams in the following areas: physical and virtual servers, Azure ecosystem - including Microsoft Entra, M365, Defender, Web Application Firewalls, networking, Dynamics365 backend, and Azure applications, Microsoft Active Directory - including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Certificate Authorities, device management, and identity management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all areas of infrastructure (except networking).
  • Design, install, and configure internal and customer-facing services based upon established best practices.
  • Proactively manage and maintain the Azure and Active Directory environments.
  • Participate in security-related discussions regarding the infrastructure environments.
  • Mentor / cross train team members on technologies under your purview.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for technologies listed as specific your responsibility.
  • Assist with hardware and software evaluations and recommendations.
  • Define and document the best practices, standards, and support procedures.
  • Participate in change and problem management.
  • Provide after-hours support for infrastructure-related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Assist with helpdesk tickets and project related tasks.
  • Assist other IT teams with tasks related to enterprise infrastructure.
  • Ability to understand and incorporate technical requirements into project designs.
  • Ability to proficiently communicate technical concepts to people without technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to respectfully challenge ideas that do not meet criteria and work to provide an acceptable solution.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in IT related field of study.
  • Equivalent experience in the job market.
  • IT Certifications (Microsoft, VMware, ITIL, ISC2, etc).
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in IT related field of study.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrable infrastructure related skills at an architect/subject matter expert level of expertise.
  • Expertise in Microsoft on premise and cloud based technologies.
  • Expertise in identity management.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies.
  • Security and network proficiency, preferred.
  • Infrastructure as a Service proficiency, preferred.
