Integral part of the team that implemented the Virtual Machine Environment as well as the designing, installing, configuring and administering of the virtual hosts and hardware and associated data storage. Providing authoritative advice to other specialists in disaster recovery, business continuity, and operating systems security, and developing and implementing IRS-wide guidelines. Developing contingency plans (Disaster Recovery or Business Continuation Plans for information technology systems) to ensure availability and accessibility of network resources in the event of emergencies. Developing long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities. Coordinating the implementation of security programs across Tier I, II, and III systems, and establishing vulnerability reporting criteria. Reviewing and evaluating security incident response policies; identifying need for changes based on new security technologies or threats; testing and implementing new policies and instituting measures to ensure awareness and compliance. Implementing security requirements resulting from new Public Law, Presidential directive, or other external mandate; integrating security programs across IRS business units and organizations; and defining the scope and level of detail for security plans and policies applicable to the IRS security program. Design, deploy, implement, configure, administer and maintain Group policy and active directory systems. Design, deploy, implement, configure, administer and maintain computer systems with direct responsibility for the management and reliability of the operating system, client software, security applications and tools. Tasked with identifying current and potential problematic areas and updating architecture and or establishing new requirements to establish a fully compliant infrastructure protection program for the agency. The likely salary range for this position is $140,899 - $170,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
