About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Base, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, located in JBLM, WA. Responsibilities Provide technical advice for all automation including trouble shooting, problem solving, upgrading and/or debugging. Assist with coordinating fielding dates, locations and/or special equipment or set-ups as required. Ensure user accounts and/or automation assets are in compliance. Prepare documents for account creation or submit them for approval. Analyze Information Technology (IT) problems to diagnose issues and/or escalate to a higher-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) when necessary to determine corrective measures. Ensure existing systems are operation according to supported Network Enterprise System standards. Perform a variety of work supporting knowledge management that involves liaison responsibilities between employees. Verify all access permission to share information and/or knowledge for unit mission accomplishment local procedures and policies. Prepare system documentation or performance system analysis in support of automated systems. Participate in the development and/or presentation of formal, informal training, and/or user guides for in-house application. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Providing technical support to users for hardware, software, and network issues. 2.) Troubleshooting and/or resolving IT problems through various methods such as remote assistance, phone support, or in person visits. 3.) Documenting and/or tracking issues and/or resolutions in an automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). In addition to specialized experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. OR Education: successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, two full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. Situational telework is sometimes also referred to as episodic, intermittent, unscheduled, or adhoc telework. Situational telework is approved on a case-by-case basis, where the hours worked were not part of a previously approved, ongoing, and regular telework schedule.
