IT Specialist (Onsite Field Support)
Location: Hollister, CA (100% Onsite + On-Call)
Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE)
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
We are seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to serve as the sole on-site technical support resource for our team in Hollister, CA. This is a highly autonomous role ideal for a jack-of-all-trades IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills, field tech experience, and a proactive mindset. You will be responsible for everything from workstation setups to network and server support, while ensuring the stability and performance of our critical IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform workstation, printer, and peripheral hardware setup and maintenance
Provide desktop, server, and network support including routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling
Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues across hardware, software, and connectivity
Administer and support Windows Servers, basic SQL operations, and backup solutions
Maintain and support POS systems (Aloha preferred), PMS systems, and telecom infrastructure
Serve as the first and only line of IT support on-site; manage all tickets, vendors, and escalations
Create, maintain, and improve IT standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and asset inventory
Support cybersecurity best practices and ensure systems remain secure and up-to-date
Partner with business units to understand operational needs and deliver IT solutions
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on IT experience across multiple domains (hardware, network, systems)
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently drive issue resolution
Solid knowledge of networking concepts, infrastructure, and tools (TCP/IP, switches, VLANs, etc.)
Experience with Windows Server administration, SQL basics, and general system maintenance
Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Aloha) and/or hospitality/property management systems is highly desired
Demonstrated experience creating SOPs and technical documentation
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred but not required
This is an on-site role with occasional on-call duties. Candidates must be comfortable being the go-to technical expert in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
