The Office of the Secretary of State is recruiting to fill a permanent full-time Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) position in the Information Technology Division (ITD).
Under general direction of the System Engineering Section Chief, the Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) Cloud Network Engineer is part of the team responsible for tasks related to the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of the Secretary of State's internal and external network as well as it's cloud-based infrastructure. The ITS II will conduct the most complex tasks in the development of the Notary Automation Project 2.0 (NAP 2.0) network infrastructure and assist with its overall infrastructure environment. The ITS II will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our cloud network architecture. The ITS II must have a high degree of knowledge and experience in the technical domains of Cloud Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, IT Project Management and Information Security Engineering required for this classification. The ITS II may be required to respond or work off business hours as determined by the operational needs of SOS.
Desirable Qualifications: The most qualified candidates will have the following:
- Strong understanding of how to implement, manage and support network architectures in multiple cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Experience and fluency in Palo Alto infrastructure
- Experience with F5, Imperva, and Cisco infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a network engineering focus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to visualize solutions
- Excellent verbal and written skills and can work with all levels of staff including managers and executives
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and overlapping due dates
- Experience leading work efforts and/or projects
- Innovative, creative, forward thinker, willing to learn new technologies

Working Conditions This position is primarily in a telework environment with occasional in office work as needed. The incumbent may be required to respond or work off business hours as determined by the operational needs of the Secretary of State.
