We are seeking a Manager, IT Security to oversee critical components of its information security program. This organization operates in a fast-paced, highly creative environment that values innovation, collaboration, and strategic thinking.


ROLE SUMMARY

The Manager, IT Security, is responsible for guiding and executing IT security operations, maintaining compliance standards, and protecting the organization's technology infrastructure. This role involves both hands-on technical oversight and strategic leadership. Reporting to the IT Network and Security Manager, the ideal candidate will lead initiatives to secure systems, manage risk, and ensure rapid response to potential threats across the enterprise.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, detection, and incident response.
  • Develop and maintain policies and processes related to network and endpoint security.
  • Oversee vulnerability management efforts, including scanning, risk assessment, and remediation coordination.
  • Manage escalations from the service desk related to security issues.
  • Lead security awareness initiatives, including phishing response and training campaign tracking.
  • Monitor identity and access management systems, ensuring secure access across environments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support compliance audits and reporting.
  • Provide regular security posture updates and metrics to senior leadership.
  • Support business continuity planning and after-hours/on-call security response as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong working knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, endpoint protection, and email security.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems; Linux experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with network scanning tools, firewalls, and identity management solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead projects, communicate across departments, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8-10 years of experience in IT security, with leadership or functional management experience preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, GSEC, CISA, or CISSP are a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position follows standard business hours Monday through Friday 8-5pm and requires flexibility for after-hours or on-call responsibilities.
