IT Security Analyst 4 (Security Operations) - Hybrid Richmond, VA

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote)

Duration: May 5, 2025 - September 30, 2025

About the Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled IT Security Analyst with a strong background in Security Operations to join a critical state-level project. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who brings technical depth, hands-on experience, and a proactive mindset to all thing's cybersecurity.

If you're passionate about securing complex environments and driving vulnerability management, DevSecOps, and incident response initiatives-you'll thrive in this role.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive and manage vulnerability assessments, reporting, and resolution efforts
  • Lead and execute internal penetration testing with remediation planning
  • Integrate security into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and support DevSecOps practices
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, including root cause analysis
  • Conduct password audits, user access reviews, and system hardening
  • Use industry tools like Nessus, Tenable, Qualys, Burp Suite, Fortify, etc.
  • Automate security tasks using PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of hands-on security operations experience

In-depth knowledge of frameworks such as NIST 800-53 or CJIS

Proficiency in security scanning and penetration testing tools

Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.)

Strong communication skills and stakeholder management

Professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, etc.

Bonus Points For:

Public sector or high-compliance environment experience

Experience embedding security in CI/CD pipelines and secure architecture design

Ability to create documentation and lead cross-functional initiatives

Additional Notes:

  • Must be physically located in the U.S. during the contract
  • Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
  • In-person interview required
