Akkodis is seeking an IT Project Manager for a client in Denton, TX.


Rate Range: $55.00/hour to $65.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


This role is onsite.


For this particular assignment, must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.


Description

The IT project manager is responsible for leading projects thru their lifecycle: request, planning, execution, delivery, transfer to operate and closure. The IT PM works together with IT architects to design the technical solution for the service to deploy to then then coordinate the project technical tasks and teams while respecting planning, cost and quality.


Responsibilities

  • Drives the management of requests from business and functional domains.
  • Organizes, along with other service centers management, the technical teams to propose a solution and along with the associated budget (Workload and CAPEX/OPEX) to answer customer needs.
  • Submits project/requests proposals to management for validation.
  • Defines and implements project dashboards.
  • Is responsible and accountable for project budgets, planning and quality.
  • Ensures and controls project deliverables are in compliance with customer and management expectations and specifications.
  • Manages and controls contractual commitments of suppliers in the scope of projects.
  • Leads the technical deployment of project solutions and their hand over to various teams/groups.
  • Manages communication to project team and stakeholders.
  • Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 4 as a PM; preferably managing deliverables for software projects but open to other types of projects as well.
  • Knowledge with various PM tools such as Jira, Visio, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and goal-focused.
  • Experience managing critical resources, allocating work, and ensuring milestones are met.
  • Comfortable leading and guiding meetings with leadership and other business stakeholders to provide project updates and discuss roadmaps.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications such as PMP and ITIL are preferred.
