Equipment One Company is the holding company that owns and operates Vermeer Texas-Louisiana and Compact Construction Equipment, Inc. EOC manages all corporate functions for both companies including Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits, Accounting, Credit, Finance, and Information Technology. Vermeer Texas-Louisiana is the distributor for Vermeer construction equipment and has 14 branches across Texas and South Louisiana. Compact Construction Equipment distributes the Bobcat line of construction equipment and has 18 branches in Texas.
We're seeking an experienced IT Manager who has the technological skills to make us even more efficient. This person will analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of network maintenance, experience as a manager, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. The IT manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall growth.
Role Objectives
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
- Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions
- Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions
- Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they're offering the best-possible service and value for business needs
- Manage the ticketing system for all support requests in Jira Service Management, ensuring tickets are properly prioritized and the team completes them according to the approved ticket policy
- Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed
- Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
Required & Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in IT management
- Deep knowledge of operating systems, Hyper-V, Server 2016+ and Windows 11 (ex: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring
- Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
- Strong creative and analytical thinking
- Proficiency with Microsoft Endpoint (Intune), including AutoPilot deployment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, Office, Azure AD) administration
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science preferred
- Professional certification(s) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency deploying, managing, scaling, and automating workloads in Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of SSO utilizing Azure AD
- Skill and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing
- Skill in applying critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving methods
- Skill in attending to detail and data accuracy validation
- Knowledge and skills to manage projects, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
