Shape your future while helping to shape the community. Goodhue County is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals for our Information Technology internship. In this position you will get firsthand experience in the role of technology in local governments as you work independently and collaboratively with IT professionals to support the county's mission.
In this internship, you will work with various technology disciplines, such as PC support, networking, application development, and cybersecurity, supporting all areas of government operation: county administration, public works, law enforcement, land use management, taxpayer services, and many others.
We are looking for a college student majoring in information technology, computer science, software development, cybersecurity, or a related field. In reviewing application materials, we will be looking for:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgement when interacting with county employees.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and end users.
• Ability to maintain data privacy and confidentiality as required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Qualified applicants will also be able to pass a thorough background investigation and possess a valid driver's license.
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation for this internship is $18/hour. A work schedule will be mutually agreed upon prior to the start of the internship. This position is not eligible for County benefits except for Earned Sick and Safe Time (1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked). Other planned time off may be granted unpaid.
