What You'll Do - Key Responsibilities
As an IT Field Services Technician, you'll be responsible for:
- Installing and supporting IT infrastructure, including computers, printers, phones, and networking equipment
- Running and terminating network cables and performing IT troubleshooting in field environments
- Supporting new location openings, traveling nationwide to implement technology systems
- Maintaining site security systems, including door access and camera systems
- Documenting and maintaining network configurations and standard operating procedures
- Providing on-site support in rail yards and industrial environments-safety certifications will be provided
- Working independently in remote satellite locations, solving complex IT challenges
What We're Looking For - Skills & Qualifications
To thrive in the IT Field Services Technician role, you'll need:
- 2+ years of experience Working in the field with Infrastructure related equipment
- Hands-on skills in setting up routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and user hardware
- Experience with cabling and low-voltage installations
- Knowledge of 4G networks and radio equipment (preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, rooftops, and in industrial settings
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus
Work Environment & Travel
- Travel is required 50% of the time, depending on business needs and acquisitions
- Work may take place outdoors, on rooftops, or in rail yards-this is a physically demanding and highly active role
- Schedule flexibility is a must, including on-call rotations, weekend work, and after-hours projects
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-4 years of field experience is required
- Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) preferred
- Vocational or technical training in IT or networking is a plus
