Position Summary The Information Systems Specialist is responsible for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the information technology infrastructure supporting the organization. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless functioning of the practice's core systems, including the Athena Healthcare EMR and other essential technology solutions. The Specialist will provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, manage system updates and configurations, and collaborate with staff to optimize their use of technology to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and data security within a HIPAA-compliant environment. This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication to support the practice's technology needs.
Duties and Responsibilities - Provide technical support to staff, addressing hardware and phone-related issues with a focus on efficient and effective resolution.
- Offer high-level support and strategic guidance on applications and systems, emphasizing optimization for enhanced performance and reliability.
- Ensure seamless connectivity within the orthopaedic practice, taking proactive measures to address information system concerns.
- Demonstrate expertise in managing and troubleshooting Athena Healthcare EMR and other integrated technology solutions
- Collaborate closely with the internal IT Specialist and external IT providers to promptly address issues and ensure the smooth operation of systems.
- Provide comprehensive support and training to providers and staff on all technology solutions utilized within the practice, specifically Athena Healthcare EMR and integrated systems. Ensuring the providers can effectively leverage these tools to optimize patient care workflows, access information efficiently, and maintain data accuracy and security.
- Continuously assess and enhance IS systems to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Stay informed about and learn multiple third-party software to support ongoing improvement efforts.
- Perform all other duties as delegated by MOS leadership.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant industry experience
- Athena Healthcare EMR system expert
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.) are a plus.
