Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to lead the design, implementation, and assessment of secure systems in support of a federal government program upon contract award. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cybersecurity engineering, risk management frameworks, and secure system lifecycle development within classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead security engineer for system architecture, design, and implementation in accordance with DoD and IC security standards.
• Develop and maintain security documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports (RARs), and Security Assessment Plans (SAPs).
• Conduct security engineering analysis and provide recommendations for mitigating risks throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with system architects, developers, and ISSOs to ensure security requirements are integrated into system designs.
• Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities under RMF (NIST SP 800-37) and ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, security testing, and continuous monitoring.
• Interface with government stakeholders and accreditation authorities to support system certification.

Qualification

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of related experience in cybersecurity engineering or information assurance.

Required Skills/Technologies

• In-depth knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-53, and related federal cybersecurity standards.
• Experience with secure system design, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Familiarity with security tools such as ACAS, Nessus, STIGs, and SCAP.
• Strong understanding of network security, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and incident response.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CISSP, CISM, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal government programs.
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, container security, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
