Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:- Proficiency in database performance optimization and the development of stored procedures, functions, and triggers within a complex relational database.
- Proven experience in SQL programming, with experience writing, optimizing, and debugging complex queries.
- Understanding and practical experience with computer networks, Windows server environments, and system integration, ensuring reliable and efficient technology operations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, especially the ability to effectively impart complex or technical subjects to a varied audience
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with commercial EMR/healthcare technologies such as eClinicalWorks.
- Experience working with information systems that manage heavily regulated data, such as data governed by HIPAA, PCI, and FERPA.
- Prior full-time experience as a system or application administrator in a higher education or health care environment.
- Knowledge of security risks, controls, and risk mitigation options applicable to computer networks, systems, communication protocols, and software applications.
- Experience utilizing reporting tools and data visualization platforms.
Job Description:The Systems Administrator I carries out technical tasks related to computer operating systems software support, as well as assisting in the evaluation, selection, installation, and maintenance of systems software and hardware for the university.
Job Duties:- Provide technical support for systems utilized across the Division of Student Success.
- Manage daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the electronic medical records system/EMR (eClinicalWorks), ensuring high performance and availability.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to address technical issues, updates, and customization needs.
- Collaborate with vendors and technical support teams for timely issue resolution, system upgrades, and quality assurance.
- Operationalize University Health Services (UHS) procedures by creating, improving and implementing efficient workflows in the EMR.
- Monitors permissions and grants/denies user access requests following the principle of least privilege.
- Produce reports, statistics, and metrics from divisional systems.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and university regulations by applying knowledge of relevant laws and policies to supported systems, while collaborating with departments and staff to align with federal, state, and university requirements.
- Serve as the designated HIPAA Security Custodian for UHS. (seeking input from CISO)
- Gather technical requirements, provide technical insights, and assist in the implementation and contribute to the overall support of software solutions.
- Document system processes, configurations, and procedures to ensure system integrity and user support.
- Participate in cross-departmental projects to align with university technology standards and initiatives.
- Contribute to meetings, teams, and professional development activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
