JMT's Civil design group is looking for a dynamic individual to be responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects and planning sheet layout.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria, to prepare drawings using computer-aided drafting software.
- Uses judgment and modifications in making basic engineering computations and revises specifications for adaptions and modifications.
- Makes quality control corrections to contract drawings using MicroStation or AutoCAD computer aided design software
- Responsible for updating CAD files per client drafting standards.
- Prepares exhibits for reports, public meetings or presentations
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities - Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Required Experience
- 5-15 years of experience in either civil design, utility design, highway design, or related engineering field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microstation and/or REVIT
- Knowledge of design and drafting procedures
Preferred Experience - Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer, Geopak or InRoads and 3D modeling
- Experience developing construction plans for highway design projects
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Project is beneficial
- Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam and photo editors is beneficial
Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
