Internship opportunity. CoVantage Credit Union is seeking an Information Security Intern. This individual will assist the Information Security department with the day-to-day department operations, including conducting phishing training, assisting credit union staff with phishing remediation, and system security in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and standards. This individual will work with other Information Security and Technology teams to ensure documentation is kept accurate and error free. They will assist employees in configuration and maintenance of security and infrastructure monitoring while ensuring they are configured to best meet the needs of the credit union mission.
Job Duties
- Assist credit union staff with email security, including phishing email identification.
- Assist information security staff with policy development and implementation.
- Aid in monitoring all aspects of the network infrastructure, data centers, and connectivity from an information security perspective.
- Conduct first level information security investigations.
- Assists to ensure configuration best meets the needs of credit union mission while maintaining appropriate levels of security in accordance with CoVantage, NIST, NCUA, and FFIEC requirements.
- Assists with report generation and training implementation
- Investigate and resolve errors or issues in the IT infrastructure with the assistance of other IS&T staff and vendors as required.
- Assist in proactive ownership of identified issues within job responsibilities.
- Identify opportunities for continuing process improvement.
- Communicate effectively with the IS&T team to provide support within the VDI environment, supported peripherals, and applications to end user.
- Assist with senior members of the IT staff with support of the various business units to ensure IT systems and infrastructure meet the needs of the organization.
- Work as scheduled, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed, including assisting in other departments as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an Associate's or higher degree program for Information Security or computer related field
- Have a basic understanding of Information Security related processes including vulnerabilities, phishing, breaches, data compromise, and business email compromise.
- Understanding of basic information technology principles is encouraged.
- Exposure to IT related concepts such as hardware, software, web development, image manipulation (Adobe Suite) or other application packages.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in direct professional contact with a wide variety of people.
- Should be living in reasonable proximity to the Neenah, WI or DePere, WI CoVantage offices
