Role: Senior Information Security Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX

Office: 2 days onsite, 3 days hybrid

Salary: $110,000-120,000

Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm, M-F. With availability to be flexible for incident response.

Must be able to get US Security Clearance


Certifications Required: One or more preferred - CompTIA Security+, ISC2 SSCP, Microsoft Azure, SANS GSEC.


Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years in IT, with at least 3 years in an information security-specific role.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Sentinel), threat hunting, scripting (PowerShell/Python), vulnerability scanning, and firewall management.
  • Familiarity with information security frameworks such as NIST, SOC2, ISO-27001, or CIS Controls.

ABOUT THE ROLE: Responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of the Firm's data, hardware, software and people. Their primary responsibility is to manage the information security systems and processes of the Firm and respond to any alerts and warnings generated by those systems including: verifying and responding to incidents, containing and remediating confirmed incident, and recovery following an incident.


SPECIFIC DUTIES

Monitor firm's computing environment to detect and analyze security threats, including policy violations, abnormal activity, and network intrusions.

  • Manage and optimize security tools and processes, especially within Microsoft M365/Azure platforms:
  • Defender for O365, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud
  • Sentinel (SIEM), KQL queries
  • Intune, Conditional Access Policies
  • Administer and maintain Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and GlobalProtect VPN.
  • Participate in CSIRT activities, supporting incident detection, triage, containment, and recovery efforts.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, support penetration testing, and manage remediation efforts.
  • Research current threat trends and implement improvements based on evolving TTPs.
  • Lead patching and software update initiatives across all systems.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining security documentation (standards, procedures, playbooks).
  • Provide training and guidance on information security practices to firm personnel.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.

Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


Experience:

  • 3+ years in IT, with at least 3 years in an information security-specific role.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Sentinel), threat hunting, scripting (PowerShell/Python), vulnerability scanning, and firewall management.
  • Familiarity with information security frameworks such as NIST, SOC2, ISO-27001, or CIS Controls.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours and be available 24x7 for incident response.
