Guthrie is seeking an experienced US Board-Certified Physician who has completed an IM residency and an Infectious Diseases fellowship. The physician must be board-certified in both.
Position Highlights:
The position reports to the System Chief Quality Officer of the Guthrie Clinic for Infection Control duties and the Chief of Infectious Diseases for Clinical Infectious Disease duties.
The position is tentatively scheduled as 0.5 FTE Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control and 0.5 FTE Clinical Infectious Diseases. Flexible Schedule available.
Six (6) hospital system
A successful candidate must provide subject matter expertise in infection prevention and healthcare epidemiology.
Review healthcare-associated infections with subsequent infection control and process improvement implementation to reduce hospital-acquired infections.
Development and implementation of infection control principles and policies in general related to the reduction of multi-drug-resistant organisms, outbreak response, and particular pathogens.
Interpretation of epidemiologic data
Improvement of data infrastructures and data reporting in compliance with NHSN, CMS, and other internal metrics
Experience Desired:
Minimum five to seven years in direct patient care
Minimum three years of supervisory and/or leadership experience in a healthcare setting
Minimum two years experience leading Infection Prevention & Control
Robust and expert knowledge of infectious diseases, data collection, and basis statistics.
Strong leadership skills
Ability to create, manage, and drive projects and programs to successful outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences
Must be eligible for both Pennsylvania and New York Medical Licensure
A Master of Public Health (MPH) or similar advanced degree is preferred.
