Infection Preventionist/ Quality Assurance RN

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff by implementing infection control measures and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infection control practices, epidemiology, and public health, preferably in a Long Term Care setting.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention protocols to minimize the risk of infections within the facility.
Conduct thorough documentation reviews to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
Collaborate with clinical staff to provide education on infection prevention strategies and best practices.
Analyze data related to infection rates and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Perform patient observations to assess adherence to infection control measures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection prevention and control.
Stay updated on current research and guidelines related to epidemiology and public health.
Responsible for the classroom instruction of prospective STNA's

Skills
Strong knowledge of infection control practices and protocols.
Proficiency in documentation review processes and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
Excellent data management skills for tracking infection rates and outcomes.
Understanding of epidemiology principles as they relate to infection prevention.
Ability to effectively communicate with healthcare teams and provide training on infection control measures.
Strong observational skills for monitoring patient compliance with safety protocols.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule
Must be willing to be in an on-call rotation schedule approximately 5 days per month

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
