Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Outside Sales Representative to join our rapidly growing team. This role is perfect for a proactive, knowledgeable professional who thrives in industrial environments and has a deep understanding of equipment used in steel mills, foundries, aluminum plants, and other heavy metals industries. You'll play a critical role in developing relationships with safety managers, plant managers, melt shop teams, procurement, and operations leadership-demonstrating how our innovative equipment can transform their operations and keep their employees safe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the face of LAG Equipment in the field-developing new business, servicing existing accounts, and fostering long-term customer relationships.
- Identify client needs and propose equipment solutions tailored to the customer's application and operational goals.
- Conduct on-site equipment demonstrations and presentations for safety and plant personnel.
- Travel extensively across assigned territory and occasionally outside it for strategic opportunities, trade shows, and training.
- Work cross-functionally with internal engineering, service, and leadership teams to ensure customer feedback drives continuous improvement.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our full product line and industry-specific applications.
- Track and manage sales activity using CRM tools and provide regular updates to leadership.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industrial sales experience, ideally within demolition, heavy equipment, steel production, refractory, or related industries.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and articulate mechanical, hydraulic, and safety-focused product features.
- Demonstrated success in a territory-based or traveling sales role with a track record of building trust and driving results.
- Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) across North America; valid driver's license and passport required.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in heavy industrial environments, including melt shops and hazardous areas.
