Maintenance Supervisor for our Wichita, KS. Packaging facility.
Job Responsibilities
The Maintenance Supervisor is a 1st Shift, hourly position responsible for the daily maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and upgrades of the facility while overseeing technicians' activities and assignments.
- Plans and monitors the timely completion of maintenance work orders
- Maintains cost-effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs with quality improvement and cost reduction ideas
- Maintains adequate inventories of spare parts and purchased materials, parts, and supplies as required
- Reports to the Plant Manager while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities
- Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results
- Troubleshoot and solve problems
- Actively participates in the Vision Zero Safety Program of the company
- Maintain a good working relationship with the entire management team and supervisory staff
- Maintain good housekeeping practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Minimum 3 years of electrical and 5 years combined maintenance experience
- Strong industrial electrical with fabrication and mechanical maintenance skills preferred.
- Experience with safety programs like Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, & Hot Work Permits, etc.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, and CMMS systems
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical aspects of a manufacturing environment as it relates to operations, costs, production, margins, capital projects and turnarounds.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and knowledge of electrical drawings and symbology.
- Strong knowledge of welding and metal fabrication, including reading blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical systems and assemblies.
- Pneumatic troubleshooting of both high- and low-pressure systems.o Ability to utilize the information learned to determine the best course of action in a timely manner
- A critical thinker who finds solutions to problems and then implement those solutions.
- Highly motivated person that can handle a high volume of work with accuracy in a fast-changing environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends as needed.
- Must have good work ethic, dependable, and strong organizational skills.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to communicate effectively and develop skills within the team
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
- Must be able to pass a written skills test and a possibly a practical skills test.
