Position: Part-Time Independent Living Aide / Personal Assistant


Location: Pleasanton, CA


Start Date: Targeting a June hire; includes a one-week paid trial period with the client


Schedule: Monday-Friday, minimum 20 hours per week, up to 30 (flexible, open to split shifts)


Compensation: $40/hr.+, depending on experience; household payroll


About the Role:

We are seeking a warm, highly organized, and neurodiversity-affirming companion to support a bright, creative 33-year-old woman living independently with Level 1 Autism.


The Household Manager will help structure the client's day by mapping out a daily schedule and providing gentle accountability. They will support executive functioning through planning, task management, and reminders. The role includes accompanying the client to occasional medical and other appointments, and assisting with complex or overwhelming tasks such as phone calls, scheduling, and travel arrangements. The assistant will offer light household organization support while promoting the client's independence, and provide steady emotional support, especially during periods of anxiety or overstimulation.


Duties:

  • Assist in structuring the client's day-help map out a daily schedule and provide gentle accountability.
  • Support executive functioning: planning, task management, and reminders
  • Accompany the client to occasional appointments (medical and otherwise)
  • Assist with complex or overwhelming tasks like phone calls, scheduling, or travel arrangements
  • Provide light household organization support while encouraging the client's independence
  • Offer steady emotional support and help manage anxiety or overstimulation when it arises
  • Encourage personal growth and help the client maintain a balanced, fulfilling lifestyle
  • Balance compassion and structure-knowing when to gently encourage and when to step back

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate is experienced in working with neurodivergent adults, particularly individuals with Level 1 Autism.
  • They are exceptionally patient, grounded, and emotionally intuitive, with a strong ability to support executive functioning and ease anxiety.
  • A respectful and kind communicator, they lead with clarity and compassion.
  • Flexibility is a plus, with availability for consistent weekday support preferred.
  • The role is best suited for someone seeking a long-term position and who is committed to building trust over time.
  • The candidate must have access to reliable transportation for errands and appointments.

Benefits: This position offers two weeks paid vacation, paid holidays, five paid sick days, plus guaranteed pay 52 weeks per year.
