Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace Inc. in Johnstown, PA is seeking to fill the position of Incoming Inspector. The Incoming Inspector will support the effort of our production goals by performing inspection of individual parts, sub-assemblies, and whole components and to ensure quality products meet their required specifications at receipt of deliver from our suppliers for use in the assembly of Remote Weapon Stations.
Essential job duties- Verify dimensional analysis of incoming parts using various measuring instruments according to specification or print.
- Document measurement results (pass/fail). Move parts to holding area for warehousing.
- Complete 100% inspection of serial numbered parts to ensure that the serial number is correct; contact supplier with errors as necessary.
- Provide production support by analyzing key elements.
- Inspect parts, sub-assemblies, work in process goods received and finished goods to ensure the products meet company quality standards.
- Use final checklist for main assemblies or work descriptions for smaller sub-assemblies.
- Maintain inspection and quality data and enter into computer database in order to track performance and deficiencies of suppliers.
- Sign documentation once acceptance has been approved.
- Record non-conformance materials into Improve database according to the process.
- Initiate, support and participate in training and cross-training, as needed.
OTHER POSITION CONSIDERATIONS:One (1) year of experience operating in a warehousing, manufacturing or quality role for production with a High School Diploma/general education degree (GED) required. Experience reading blueprints, drawings and specifications is required. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team is necessary. Must be able to certify on and use daily Fork Trucks, Pallet Jacks and other powered industrial trucks. Successful candidate must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
