Describe the Broad Scope of the Function:
The In-Home Services RN is responsible for supervising the day-to-day provision of In-Home care services by agency caregivers and provide nursing services and care management to Members seeking services in the Health Clinic. The RN will provide nursing treatments, assessments, and monitoring as needed by In-Home clients. The RN may evaluate and create service plans based on client needs. The RN will regularly supervise, train and delegate responsibilities to caregiving staff. The RN will supervise agency medication services. The RN will document services provided and supervisory information in client records. The RN will need to be able to make appropriate decisions that have a financial impact on departmental operations. The RN will maintain compliance with OSBN standards and with the Oregon Administrative Rules governing In-Home care agencies.

Essential Job Functions:

• Reports to the Director of In-Home Services.

• Participates in organizational leadership activities that guide the ongoing development and improvement of the agency's operational processes.

• Responsible for managing essential administrative functions in the absence of the Director of In-Home Services.

• Participates in giving employee performance feedback for evaluations purposes.

• Provides care and complies with standards of nursing practice.

• Supervises caregiving staff but will also provide direct nursing care, including administering medication and treatments.

• Assists in training and orientation of new personnel.

• Evaluates client needs and assists with the development and implementation of care plans.

• Makes Health Clinical observation of client conditions and behavior and makes accurate and complete nursing notes of those observations in client record.

• Works safely and follows safety practices and standards of the agency. Responsible for reporting or correcting any existing or potential safety or accident hazard.

• Maintains good interdisciplinary and public relations.

• Assumes personal responsibility for active participation in staff development programs and team meetings.
