The Import Customer Service representative will provide prompt and courteous customer service, handle all related inquiries for all customers. Provide import customer care. Handle AMS submission and comply with customs rules and regulations.
- Run daily reports.
- Receive, process, and transmit advance manifests for US Customs review.
- Follow up with US Customs release or rejection response's and make sure all relevant parties receive the necessary information.
- Ensure availability and response to phone inquiries from all internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Arrive and depart vessels.
- Serve as a liaison for our customers to other related entities, including sending manifest information as required.
- Promote compliance with US Customs and other law enforcement agencies and authorities to assist with safe and secure cargo transport, including processing cargo for General Order.
- Monitor and enter releases, including Telex and cargo releases at terminals/depots.
- Create intermodal Leg sheets/reports.
- Cut IT's and T&E's.
- Acquire delivery instructions from customers.
- Process invoices and create third party rebills.
- Ensure proper cargo handling instructions are provided to the relevant terminal or cargo warehouse operators.
- Send arrival notices.
- Performs other office related duties as assigned.
Requirements: - HS Diploma/GED
- 2-3 years of functional experience in Inbound Customer Service handling container, break bulk, and LCL traffic preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy with data entry.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (written & verbal).
- Organizational and Time management skills; multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience handling multiple operational systems.
