Job DetailsThe Allentown, PA office of Norris McLaughlin P.A., has an opening for an Immigration Legal Assistant with at least 2 years of law firm experience. This position provides the opportunity to further develop skills and to be an integral part of our Immigration Law Group.
Responsibilities:- Manage attorney calendars and assist in meeting deadlines.
- Organize and maintain both physical and electronic files.
- E-file all court documents in federal court, and appellate courts.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and attorneys.
- Drafting correspondence to clients.
- Opening new files, preparing conflicts checks and drafting engagement letters.
- Transcribe and proofread legal dictation from draft or dictated text.
- On-site attendance as required for this position.
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items.
Qualifications: - Self-starter able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- E-filings experience is a plus.
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to multi-task with flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced work environment
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, including advanced use of MS Word (including redlining, comparing documents, advanced formatting, Table of Contents and Table of Authorities creation and manipulation, and hyperlinks).
- Strong client-first work ethic
- Strong attention to detail.
- Associate degree a plus
- Minimum 2-year Law firm experience
- Microsoft Office Suite
