Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to job sites to perform field checkout, testing, and commissioning of equipment
- Program, configure, troubleshoot, and modify PLC systems (primarily Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens)
- Work with 4-20 mA loop devices, VFDs, HMIs, PID controllers, and other industrial control components
- Interpret and apply NEC standards, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings
- Modify and redline technical drawings and documentation to reflect field changes
- Provide on-call technical support to customers as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain detailed service records
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming, diagnostics, and loop calibration
- Proficient in configuring 4-20 mA loop devices and troubleshooting control systems
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and interpreting technical diagrams
- Comfortable traveling 75% of the time (regional and national travel required)
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to drive a company vehicle
- Must obtain a TWIC card within the first 6 weeks of employment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, crawl, stoop, and navigate tight equipment spaces
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally extended hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix, RS Linx, GE Rx3i, Siemens, or Modicon PLCs
- Technical degree or military training in a mechanically focused field
- Field experience in petrochemical, power generation, renewable energy, pulp & paper, or food processing industries
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and NFPA 70E electrical safety regulations
- Electrical Journeyman license is a plus
- Expertise working on motors, VFDs, actuators, valves, transmitters, and industrial instrumentation
