The Senior Water System Hydraulic Modeler Will
  • Exhibit excellent project management capabilities, including developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules during project planning, and ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
  • Independently manage staffing and workload throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are completed on time.
  • Monitor project finances and coordinate team efforts to ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Use commercial software to analyze data statistically and graphically, and to develop and calibrate hydraulic models of water distribution systems.
  • Apply modeling software to diagnose utility system issues, identify capital improvements to address deficiencies and plan for future growth, and communicate all phases of model development and analysis effectively.
  • Develop and assess control alternatives and strategies for optimization.
  • Document methods and results in written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Collaborate with other modeling staff, project teams, and clients in roles such as project engineer, technical lead, and project manager.
  • Support utility planning, evaluation, and modeling services through custom tool development, advanced data analytics, and exploration of new technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or similar Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • REDACTED PE, or EIT with a path to obtain PE (or ability to obtain through reciprocity).
  • Experience in data management for model import, development, calibration, and performing a wide range of analysis scenarios.
  • Familiarity and experience with hydraulic modeling software, preferably InfoWater/InfoWater Pro and/or WaterGems.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS PRO.
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

The Following Would Also Be Of Benefit
  • Interest or experience in programming for task automation and specialized tool development.
  • M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience with gravity hydraulic modeling software: InfoSWMM, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, MIKE Urban/MIKE+, InfoWorks ICM, SewerCAD, SewerGems, or others.
