On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hydraulic Engineer with a focus on forklift mechanics and hydraulic hose systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the drive to succeed across all areas of our company. For those who are fully competent, we offer a full senior wage. For candidates who do not yet meet these standards, training and development will be implemented before the full wage can be offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the mobile hose repair and hydraulic diagnostic van to provide on-site services.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic hose systems at client locations.

Workshop Duties:

  • Safely work on hydraulic equipment.
  • Strip and build hydraulic cylinders, motors, pump assemblies, and valves.
  • Build and strip hydraulic components within the workshop.
  • Perform detailed inspections and quality checks on hydraulic components.
  • Maintain the hydraulic mechanic workshop and mobile van.
  • Manage workshop & mobile van fittings, oils, and consumables.
  • Follow the hydraulic shop's open and shut down procedures.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify issues with hydraulic systems.
  • Understand engineering principles and hydraulic faults to perform repairs accordingly.

Maintenance and Installation:

  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of hydraulic hose systems.
  • Develop and follow maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Plan work methods, prioritizing safety, job completion times, and quality products.
  • Manage own workload in conjunction with the machine shop.
  • Complete accurate timesheets.

Training and Development:

  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in hydraulic technology.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols and guidelines for handling and installing hydraulic hoses.
  • Adhere to all company rules, procedures, and policies.

Ability and Knowledge:

  • Operate hydraulic test beds, hose swagers, and general workshop equipment.
  • Effectively operate forklifts and heavy-handling equipment.
  • Work offsite using minimal equipment, utilizing innovation in hydraulic van operations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to weld hydraulic cylinder parts.
  • Transferable skills across our engineering departments.

What We Offer:

Pay: £31,200.00 - £50,375.00 per year, with potential for overtime.

£15.50 P/H - £17.50 P/H with 40-hour work weeks plus overtime.

Flexible schedule, including 8-hour shifts, day shifts, and weekend availability.

Enhanced holidays for loyalty, 1 additional day every 2 years, up to 5 days total.
