Company Overview

Telecommunication is seeking a dedicated Telecom Field Engineer to join our team and provide critical engineering support for our Intelligent Edge and video networks. This role offers an opportunity to manage multiple simultaneous projects while resolving technical challenges throughout the build lifecycle.

Telecom Field Engineer Responsibilities

• Engineer and manage multiple simultaneous projects for various build initiatives in the Intelligent Edge and video networks
• Create detailed engineering documentation including installation instructions, equipment configurations, card/port assignments, power mapping, cable running lists, rack placement, and Bills of Material (BOM)
• Partner with Engineering and Operations to provision and test UT/iEN/5G networks throughout the country
• Provide Field Technicians with remote configuration and test support for US Domestic growth and revenue projects
• Support in-service network system reconfigurations during maintenance events
• Submit Engineering Support recommendations to maintain real-time documentation of network systems infrastructure
• Work proficiently in key engineering systems: UUI/Canvas, ICON, CCP, VPNS, ACTP, and Venue
• Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution
• Manage multiple Capacity Creation Requests for hardware deployments, reconfigurations, and decommissions
• Visit locations for end-of-job audits to verify installation practice adherence

Telecom Field Engineer Qualifications

Required:

• College degree in engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• Telecom Central Office Field Engineering experience or Telecom Central Office Operations experience, preferably within Telecommunication
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft applications
• Experience with Telecommunication's Capacity Creation Process (CCP), Canvas, Capital Management system, vSAP, and other internal systems

Preferred:

• Military experience is highly valued
• Previous experience as a Telecommunication Field Engineer, Central Office Supervisor, or Telecom installation vendor
• In-depth knowledge of IP72202 standard
